@MicroWare1 Yes, it only regenerates mana after battles, which makes it sort of useless.
when you unlock the acrane warrior how do you fully become one
@Phantomblade3000 Crossbows, yes. Most bows have a high dexterity requirement which your mage won’t have, but your magic stat can make up for the strength requirements of crossbows.
id be blood mage and healer
PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION
Can arcane warriors use bows and crossbows?
The only way to make a worthwhile mage is to max every single point into magic and go for blood mage. By cycling using health/mana and blood sacrifice+heal you will never run out of energy any way, and with maxed out spellpower (+wisp/spell might) and +spirit damage you will wipe out anything with ease using crushing prison, hexes, mana clash, blood wound etc.
@HannibalCrysis u have to make an mage and than unlock the arcane warrior specelazation
@Quick2Snipe100 no i tried 100 times
thank you for sharing this video with us! I *love* this game!!!!
wait, so how do you make an arcane warrior? do you make a mage and build from there?? or do you make a warrior…??
i need help using blood magic its not letting me cast the three spells besides blood magic help plz! thx
“Improves Blood Magic” does not reduce Fatigue, it reduces a percentage of the health needed to cast spells under the effect of Blood Magic. The bonus is so small it’s not really worth it as there are other better gears to get. Leaving Blood Magic on also reduces all healing done to you, including natural health regenerations. It is terrible to sustain on a tank. As a tank, your priority is to stay alive and draw aggro. AW doesn’t have the aggro control a Warrior does, which makes it worse.
@ibclappin If you really want to play a tank, pump Dex instead of Con, as it makes healing spells worth more percentage of your life. Con and Willpower are the easiest stats to find on gear, and + the fade bonus, you have more than enough. Go read guides on AW on NM builds, they would tell you to throw everything into Magic because you don’t need anything else.
And about the playing, I do play other games. DAO takes like 15-20 hrs per playthrough at this point, and this was over half a year.
@ibclappin No, Blood Magic makes casting spells cost MORE because it itself alone adds 5% more Fatigue. The only way to reduce it is by getting “Improves Blood Magic” items, which there are only 2, and one is a robe you get from Warden’s Keep, and another is a Blood Ring you get from Team Proving in Orzammar. Neither of which are very good.
Because as AW you don’t cast that many spells, that’s more the reason not to sustain Blood Magic (-heal) and even less to get Con because you don’t need it
@AuraofMana the reason points in con. are better could be that an AW with 73.5 life is a little more useless than an AW with 440 life and casting spells with blood magic cost 20% less, and why cast too many spells with your AW anyway? you want the thing to be trying to hit the enemy more, no?
best RPG since BG2 maybe but 8 times is still too much if you’d at least consider the fact that there are a lot of other games if you actually have to spend 500 hrs a month playing video games.
@ibclappin You are supposed to turn on Blood Magic to cast Blood Wound, then turn it off. The reason why using Mana is better because Blood Magic reduce the effects of heal on you (even regeneration). There are also more +Mana Regeneration gears (Stamina stats on gears spills over as Mana as well, including regeneration).
I finished the game 8 times because it has been the only thing I’ve been playing since its release. It’s only the best RPG in recent years after Baldur’s Gate 2…
@AuraofMana my mage pretty much uses only health for casting and blood sacrifice puts others to a use. with low con. a blood mage is not as strong as it could be.
if you’ve finished this game 8 times you really need a life. not to be mean, just concerned.
Should I get more constituion for life . mage is soo weak.
Well in a game, I like to deal a massive amount of damage, but still be pretty stable, but I would just like to be like the boss of the battlefield, being able to kill anything in my way, with some fun and cool armor of course.
@MyFatalTouch
Define fun. What exactly do you want your character to be doing in the party? Heavy DPS is one thing, but other things, such as CC and utility (DW Rogue) or the ability to offtank (DW Warrior)? DW Warrior is more about AOE damage as you can destroy everything around you while the DW Rogue is more about targeting a single enemy (i.e., boss) and dealing a tremendous amount of damage. With the ability to CC and run away if something goes bad (like drawing aggro).
@bollenjr
Not to mention, the more health you have, the less effective heal is. If you want to build a tank, it’s better to pump Dexterity as it allows you to dodge. The more you dodge, the less chance you get hit, which means each heal on you is worth more as a percentage to your health. If you have high health but low dodge, you take more damage, so heals have a harder time to keep your health up percentile wise. My build works for NM+enhanced difficulty mod, you are struggling on Normal.
@bollenjr
I don’t run with 3 mage and tank group either. I am pretty sure 1 Healer/Buff Mage + 1 CC/Nuke Mage + 1 DW backstab Rogue + 1 SnS Tank (or Shale) outDPSes every other party build in the game. Putting things in Magic improves damage, duration, and effect of ALL your spells. That’s why you need it. There’s no need to pump Constitution or Willpower because you can chuck potions. Again, you only need enough Constitution to survive ONE attack before heals trinkle in.
What class is more fun out of them? Because I want a powerful and fun class.
and what if you wanna use a two handed or shield?
I have good gear and if I use blood magic and do my fire trap I get myself killed THATS why u want con and if u dont have will u cant cast as mush spells so if u only put in magic it only gives punsh to ur spells. btw im not the kind of scerdypants who have a three mage group and a 100% tank
